My name is Erik Verduzco and I serve as Pour into Houston’s Executive Director and Board President. I am extremely honored to lead our team and organization as we fulfill our mission providing lasting impacts to our local community. I served as the Fundraising Director for PiH since August of 2019 before taking on my current role in July 2020.
I am originally from the small community of the Brazosport area south of Houston and served 7 years in the U.S. Army, mostly overseas. My duty stations included Ft. Jackson, Ft. Leonardwood, South Korea, Germany, Italy, and then a combat tour in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Upon returning stateside, I attended the University of Houston and began my career in Civil Engineering working on various projects with a primary focus in Site/Land Development, Transportation and Public Works. More recently in my career, I have been involved in larger program management roles for various disciplines of engineering projects in the Houston area.
I can say that my desire to serve and help others began with my enlistment into the military, but it was not until later in life that my efforts developed into an actual direct impact. I began with volunteering a couple of hours with nonprofit organizations such as local food banks, soup kitchens, and churches. After experiencing the impact that a single individual act could make, I became more involved with joining the committee for an organization that benefits a variety of causes in Brazoria County. I was nominated and voted to the Steering Committee for my company’s Community Initiative and outreach program, which I currently serve on. My combined 15 years of experience with various non-profit organizations have given me the knowledge in the logistics and networking of contacts required to make a fundraising organization successful. I inspire to bring this collection of experience to PiH and assist in the growth of the organization and develop annual events. I am honored to work alongside like-minded individuals pursuing a common goal in a collaborative team environment.
Aside from volunteering and assisting others, I primarily enjoy sports and outdoors in my free time. I am a HUGE football fan of the Houston Texans, being a season ticket holder for 13 years. I have a passion for traveling and try to take as many annual trips as possible. I enjoy outdoor activities and listening to live music and concerts. I also like to spend time with my Camp Gladiator family doing fitness events and gatherings in and outside of our camp program. My family and I attend The Fellowship church in Katy and strive to stay active with our spiritual path and growth.
